Maha and Amaan celebrated their marriage with a romantic reception that featured modern Indian wedding traditions. The couple got married in a traditional Indian ceremony earlier in the week and they followed that up with a big reception to celebrate with their family and friends. Maha and Amaan wanted a romantic, modern feel for their reception, which we accomplished with tons of romantic details at the industrial The Ice Plant Bldg.
For the reception, Maha had two beautiful, custom dresses made in India. The first dress she wore was a stunning tan dress with the most delicate sequin and beaded embroidery. Her hands and feet were adorned with intricate henna and she wore stacks of beautiful crystal encrusted bangles on each arm. She changed into her second dress, which was a beaded embroidered top with a white chiffon skirt, before the dancing began. Both dresses were equally gorgeous and complemented each other perfectly. For his look, Amaan kept it classic with a sleek black tux that looked great when paired with Maha’s two dresses.
Since the couple wanted a romantic, modern reception, having the event at The Ice Plant Bldg was perfect as it has concrete interiors, exposed brick walls, and vintage chandeliers. All of these elements tied in perfectly with the feel they were going for. For the flowers, we added romance by using a mix of white and pale pink flowers with plenty of lush greenery and pampas grass. Each table had a mix of high and low floral arrangements along with candles to add warmth. The wooden tables were balanced out by dark industrial metal chairs for a perfect touch of modern romance.
The couple wanted to incorporate modern Indian wedding traditions into their reception. They chose to exchange rings and personal vows in front of their family and friends as a way to incorporate American traditions. They also had family and friends share special toasts with the bride and groom. It was so sweet getting to see them share those special moments with their guests
To open the dance floor, the bride and groom incorporated another modern Indian wedding tradition by performing a choreographed Indian dance. They were joined shortly thereafter by members of the wedding party and family members. The dance floor stayed packed all night, so Maha and Amaan had a great time celebrating with their family and friends. We loved getting to be a part of such a fun celebration!
