Ali and Joe’s downtown San Antonio wedding was a timeless, elegant affair. The couple wanted a classic white wedding with peach undertones and gray accents. Their main priority was to spend time with the people they loved, so I loved getting to plan this day for such a special couple.
Ali wanted a timeless look, so she chose a stunning white gown with lace detailing at the top and a veil with similar lace details. She had removable cap sleeves added so the dress would be more conservative for the church ceremony. To complete her look, Ali carried a bouquet of white and pink roses and white hydrangeas. The bridesmaids wore pale gray dresses in various styles and carried bouquets that were similar to Ali’s. Joe and the groomsmen kept it classic in black tuxes that provided a nice contrast to the bridesmaids dresses.
The ceremony was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in downtown San Antonio. The church was built in the 1800s so it was a beautiful, historic church with many ornate details. The couple had a traditional Catholic ceremony, so we were able to get some beautiful shots of them standing and kneeling at the altar. After the ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour while the bride and groom took photos with their family and the wedding party.
The reception was held at Jack Guenther Pavilion at the Briscoe which is a stunning venue in downtown San Antonio that’s right on the River Walk. For the reception space, the couple chose classic white linens and chairs to allow the flowers to be the star of the show. Each table had lush floral arrangements made of peach, pink, and white flowers which added such an elegant touch to the modern reception space.
Ali and Joe’s wedding day was the same day as the bride’s late aunt’s 60th birthday who passed from cancer in 2020. The couple wanted to celebrate her, so the bride added a charm of her aunt to her wedding bouquet and they had a cake made in her favorite colors and flavors.
The bride’s cake was a beautiful three tier cake covered in pink and white flowers which looked timeless. Spice of Life provided a delicious dinner, then it was time to dance! Ali and Joe chose the Cap City Band to get the party started and the dance floor stayed packed all night. The couple also provided cowboy hats for the guests to wear, so the guests enjoyed those!
