Bringing this modern industrial wedding to life at 800 Congress in Austin was so much fun! Caitlen and Hayden met in high school and we had the pleasure of planning his brother’s wedding. When the couple said they wanted to have a modern, industrial wedding, we knew 800 Congress was the perfect place to make that happen.
The day started off with a fun getting-ready party in the bridal suite. Caitlin requested pizza as she was getting her hair and makeup done, so everyone enjoyed a slice! For the bridesmaids, Caitlen chose classic rust silk dresses with a scoop neck that added a modern touch of color to the day. Caitlen wore a gorgeous silk dress with a deep V-neckline and a stunning train. She chose a fingertip length veil with classic white heels and carried a bouquet filled with white orchids that added the perfect modern touch. Hayden and the groomsmen wore classic tan suits and skipped the ties for an updated, casual look.
The wedding was held at 800 Congress. This wedding venue has exposed brick and foundation walls that give it a warehouse feel. It was the perfect place to bring their industrial wedding to life. To create a modern feel in the ceremony space, we used dark wooden chairs and added contrast with all white floral aisle markers. The ceremony backdrop was made of climbing vines which created a beautiful visual effect against the exposed brick walls. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony. Then, they slipped away for photos in downtown Austin while we flipped the ceremony space.
For the reception, we chose off white tablecloths with rose gold napkins to reflect the color of the brick at 800 Congress. The aisle markers, filled with white orchids, white roses, and baby’s breath, were repurposed as centerpieces on the tables. The ceremony backdrop was used as their sweetheart table backdrop which was the perfect contrast to the white flowers and candles on their table. Rust and rose gold touches were scattered throughout the reception from the welcome sign to the bar sign to tie into the industrial look. The night ended with a full dance floor and a classic sparkler exit. Congrats Caitlen and Hayden!
